"For we cannot glory in all the other gifts of God, since they are not ours but God's;

therefore, the Apostle says: What have you got that you have not received from God? And,

if you have received it from Him, why do you glory as if you had it from yourself? But we

can glory in the Cross of tribulation and affliction, because this is ours; therefore, the

Apostle says: I will not glory but in the Cross of Christ. To Whom be praise and glory

forever and ever. Amen." (Francis of Assisi).
